ASL reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time, without prior notification. Do Not Track Notice or Signals

ASL does not respond to these “Do Not Track” signals. Currently, ASL does not track your online activities over time across third-party websites. Additionally, ASL does not authorize third parties to collect any Personal Information from you on the Sites for this purpose.
Public Forums
This Privacy Policy does not cover any information you choose to post, submit, or share in public forums, such as reviews, comments, critiques, editorials, testimonials, or blog discussions. Any information or content made available in these public areas may be accessed, collected, and used by others. ASL advises you to exercise caution when sharing personal information in public forums.

How ASL Uses Your Information

ASL uses Personal Information that you provide to ASL and Usage Information that ASL collects through automated means to:

Perform services: This includes maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer support, processing orders and transactions, verifying customer information, processing payments, making royalty payments (if applicable), and delivering advertising or marketing services, as well as analytics and similar services.
  2. Send communications: ASL may contact you regarding its assisted self-publishing services and related products, including promotional materials and information about various imprints.
  3. Administer participation: This involves managing your involvement in special events, contests, sweepstakes, surveys, and other promotions.
  4. Perform audits: ASL may conduct audits related to current interactions and transactions, including counting ad impressions, verifying ad positioning and quality, and ensuring compliance.
  5. Short-term, transient use: This may include contextual customization of ads shown during the same interaction.
  6. Detect security incidents: ASL works to protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activities and may prosecute those responsible.

Information ASL Shares

ASL does not rent, sell, or otherwise disclose your Personal Information, whether individually or as part of a list, except as outlined below. ASL may share your Personal Information with:

ASL’s contractors and service providers: ASL may share your Personal Information with contractors, service providers, and other third parties engaged to support its business and fulfill services you have requested or purchased. This includes, but is not limited to, credit card processing companies, marketing service providers, public relations firms, editorial service providers, printers, distributors, and retailers.

ASL is committed to offering you choices regarding the Personal Information you share. To that end, ASL has established mechanisms that empower you with the following control over your information:
  1. Email Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving marketing communications from ASL at any time by sending an email to sales@penguinbookpublisher.com. Please note that this opt-out does not apply to communications regarding your business or financial transactions with ASL.
  2. Google Analytics Display Advertising: ASL employs Google Analytics Display Advertising to remarket by displaying ASL ads on third-party websites. You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize your Google Display Network ads by visiting the Ads Settings.
  3. Reviewing, Updating, and Modifying Personal Information: In accordance with applicable law, you may request access to your Personal Information and update any inaccuracies. However, only you can change or delete tax information, including your TIN, previously provided to ASL, through your Author Center on the PenguinBook website. ASL may decline requests to change information that it believes would violate laws or legal requirements or render the information inaccurate.
  4. Do Not Call: If you wish to avoid receiving marketing or sales calls from ASL, you may request to have your name added to ASL’s Do Not Call List. ASL will process your request and remove your name from its active list within ten (10) business days. You can make this request by emailing sales@PenguinBook.com or by mailing your request to:

    When submitting a request, please include all relevant information, including your full name, street address, and telephone number(s). Subsequent inquiries or sign-ups may inadvertently create new records, which could result in unintended contact. If this occurs, please reach out to ASL to reiterate your Do Not Call request. Additionally, if your information changes, notify ASL of your new name, address, and telephone number(s) to remain on the Do Not Call List.

Children under the Age of 13

The Sites are not intended for, nor should they be used by, children under the age of thirteen (13). ASL does not knowingly collect any Personal Information from individuals under the age of thirteen (13) through the Sites.

Data Security

ASL implements commercially reasonable measures to protect your Personal Information from accidental loss, unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. However, it’s important to note that no method of data storage or transmission over the internet, or by any other means, is completely secure. While ASL works to safeguard your data, it cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit. Additionally, your Personal Information’s security is also your responsibility. You should never send sensitive information, such as bank account, payment card, or tax details, via email. If you have created a password to access certain sections of the Sites, it is your responsibility to keep it confidential. ASL strongly advises against sharing your password with anyone.

The Sites may include links to external websites for your convenience and information. These third-party websites operate independently from ASL and may have their own privacy policies, which ASL highly recommends you review. Since ASL does not own or control these linked websites, ASL is not responsible for their content, your interactions with them, or their privacy practices.

Governing Law

The Sites are based in the United States. ASL strives to safeguard the Personal Information of all users and aims to comply with local data protection and consumer rights laws, as applicable to its products and services. However, since the Sites are operated from the U.S., ASL’s policies are designed in accordance with U.S. law. ASL is a U.S.-based company and operates the Sites from within the United States.
